Pangandaran Beach

and The Time I Went There

Pangandaran is a regency in West Java province, that is very famous for its beach. Called the Pangandaran Beach. There are two beaches on the west side and east side. In the west side, the water is much calmer so it's suited for swimming or playing around. Meanwhile, in the east beach, the water is deeper and more suited for diving or snorkeling or other water sports.

My family often visit Pangandaran. Especially on the holiday season, even though the place is crowded it's still a very worthy place. Even before I was born, my mom and dad loves to visit Pangandaran.

Anyway, the last time I went there was last year on 20th until 23rd, December 2018. My mom and dad took turn driving to Pangandaran, as it's cheaper than using train. Before we arrived at Pangandaran, we stopped by my grandma's house (from my dad's side)in Gunungcupu,Ciamis. We rested and chatted for about an hour, then went back on the road. The journey itself should took about 5-6 hours, we started at 5 a.m and arrived at my grandma's house around 8 a.m. We also stopped once for breakfast in Tasikmalaya. So, around 11 a.m we were on our way to Pangandaran for real this time.

Finally, we arrived in Pangandaran at 1 p.m, we checked in our hotel and then searched for lunch. After lunch we decided to play in the beach, me and my sister was playing in the water while my mom and dad chilled out in the seats near one of the warung. They were drinking coconut and chatting around. After an hour in water, me and my sister decided to build a sandcastle of sort. It was not beautiful but we had lots of fun. Our dad also helped, my mom was taking picture and helped a bit.

We enjoyed playing in the beach until sunset where the atmosphere was very serene. After the sunset, we cleaned ourselves up at the hotel and rested for a bit. It was around 7 p.m when we decided to searched for food. We often visited the restaurants on the east side as the fisherman fish there. So all of the sea creatures are still fresh even if it's already night time. There's this place called Fish Market where a lot of seafood restaurants all lined up in one place. They all similar to one another, so we just looked around where it's not truly crowded.

We ordered crabs, prawns, and fish also 'cah kangkung'. We eat all of it while enjoying the ambience and talking to each other. After that we went back to the hotel and sleep.
We stayed for about 3 days and 2 nights. So the early in the morning on the second day we went to the beach and play around. At 1 p.m it was still too hot for us to be on the beach, so we decided to go to a sort of conservatory. We saw deer and monkeys.

Man, I miss Pangandaran quite a lot. The food, the beach, and the atmosphere.
